What is the TORE method?
The TORE Method is a technique indicated for those people who, after bariatric surgery, have regained weight, have worsened their state of health and have a Body Mass Index between 30 and 40.
It is a minimally invasive stomach reduction procedure, without scars and with a much faster recovery, indicated for those patients who have previously undergone bariatric surgery.
As it is an endoscopic treatment, it is performed orally and does not require any surgical intervention. In this case, the patient’s stomach wall is again saturated, again reducing the stomach’s capacity by means of a series of folds at different strategic points.
How is the TORE method performed?
The procedure of this novel technique of stomach reduction without surgery is very simple, it is performed by endoscopy and orally, under general anesthesia, with an approximate duration of about 60 minutes, always depending on the needs of each intervention.
With the TORE technique, 3 or 4 folds are made in strategic points of the stomach, again reducing its capacity. The process is practically the same as the POSE Method, except that in this case there are not as many stitches, as they are not necessary.
In order to obtain good results and ensure that the patient never regains his or her current weight, our medical team of experts in overweight and nutrition will start a exhaustive follow-up during the entire treatmentThe program is accompanied by a special dietary re-education program, a key point to improve their health.
