Male gynecomastia: firm torso with cosmetic surgery

Gynecomastia is an increase in the volume of the male mammary glands. This excess of fatty tissue can occur in one breast or in both, depending on each patient. Its appearance is not related to the development of other diseases, but rather as one of the major aesthetic and image problems of men.

It usually appears after 18 years of age. Mostly due to genetics or caused by various hormonal changes. It is estimated that more than 40% of men currently suffer from gynecomastia.

Male gynecomastia can appear as:

An increase in estrogen and testosterone production that manifests with excess breast tissue.
Excess fatty adipose tissue in the pectoral area.

In the first free assessment appointment, the surgical team will be in charge of diagnosing the type of gynecomastia that the patient requires.

How is Gynecomastia treatment performed?

Through male gynecomastia surgery, the patient will be able to remove excess fat from the breasts and completely improve the image of his pectoral.

It is performed by a surgical procedure with general anesthesia plus sedation. The approximate time of the procedure is usually between 60 – 90 minutes. The removal of breast fatty tissue is performed in the area of the areola. Once the process is completed, the medical surgical team will place a compression bandage and then a post-surgical girdle to begin your recovery process.

The results are visible almost immediately and totally definitive for the patient. As it is an outpatient treatment, it does not require medical hospitalization. Even so, it is always recommended to keep relative rest during the first 48 hours and avoid high intensity physical activity for the first 3 weeks after the aesthetic operation.

Many of our patients decide to undergo gynecomastia accompanied by liposuction. In this way, they are able to recover the confidence and security that they had been losing due to this aesthetic inconvenience.

Who is Gynecomastia for?

Gynecomastia is a very common male aesthetic treatment in patients with a complex about the excess volume in their pectoral area. To ensure the success of this procedure, they should be at their ideal weight and avoid massive consumption of tobacco and alcohol.

Patients with hyperthyroidism may undergo surgery as long as they have previously started their hormone optimization treatment. In this case, an exhaustive medical study will be necessary to determine whether or not the patient is suitable for this surgery.
